Quantum Meets Events Series

A series of face-to-face workshops with industry sectors and wider stakeholders to understand industry challenges and grow awareness of quantum technologies and their application.

From 11-14 August 2025, we’ll the consider challenges faced across multiple New Zealand industries and discuss potential quantum solutions. The workshops will be presented by Australia's former Chief Scientist (2021-2024), Dr Cathy Foley . Dr Foley led development of a National Quantum Strategy in 2023 which has since seen more than AU$1.2bn invested in the technology. She ran a series of “Quantum Meets” in Australia last year and the White Papers produced are now steering the development of photonic and quantum tech in Australia.

Purpose/Desired Outcome:

Each ‘Quantum Meets’ workshop targets a particular industry sector and aims to:

• Grow awareness of and build demand for photonic and quantum technologies  
• Facilitate collaboration between business, government and researchers
• Identify industry challenges that quantum technologies could address
• Inform a NZ strategy for the photonic and quantum technologies sector

Output:

White paper to Government summarising challenges, trends, opportunities, areas of strategic advantage, gaps. While these are invitation-only events, please register if you believe you can contribute.
