QTA Travel Award

The QTA Travel Award is to establish and grow collaboration with international researchers in quantum technologies.

About this funding

The QTA Travel Award is intended to further the aims of the QTA programme by increasing the number of joint PhD projects, joint funding proposals and associated research publications.  Only named Investigators working on approved programme projects can apply. Beneficiaries can include students and postdocs working with a QTA Investigator.  

Each award is expected to cover the cost of airfares, accommodation and expenses for one week. Applicants are encouraged to seek co-funding and applications for more than $5,000 per award are less likely to be approved. Funding for conference travel only will not normally be supported.

How to access funding

Applicants must be Investigatorswith the QTA programme who are seeking to create new or nurture existingcollaborative relationships.

Criteria

  • First-time applicants and those not receiving any other QTA funds will be preferred.
  • Travel must be aligned with the intent and goals of the award.
  • Preference will be given to travel to collaborators in QTA target countries: US, UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan and the Republic of Korea.)  
  • Applications should state the relevant QTA project for which the travel is required.
