Professor Mark Battley
Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor Research Reputation and Performance at the University of Auckland
Professor Mark Battley was appointed as acting Pro Vice-Chancellor Research Reputation and Performance at the University of Auckland, in January 2025. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2024 Mark was the Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Engineering, and from 2024 Deputy Director of the Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing and Design. He is a Professor in Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering, and his research areas are in analysis, design and experimental characterisation for composite materials and structures.
Current Projects
The Dodd-Walls Centre research focus is photonics, the generation, transmission, and manipulation of light, and the study of matter and energy at the quantum level.
