The Otago University OSA Student Chapter is hosting the 3rd annual Conference on Optics, Atoms and Laser Applications – IONS-KOALA 2010. KOALA will take place from the 29th of November to the 3rd of December.

Look out for Lab In A Box at Polyfest 2020! The Dodd-Walls Centre has teamed up with Otago Museum to take the shipping container come science lab for a four day show from the 18th to 21st of March at the Manukau Sports Bowl for Polyfest.
This is an exciting opportunity to let experiments burst out of the universities and engage with the Māori and Pacific communities in Tamaki Herenga Waka.
Be on the lookout for lasers, volcanoes and some colourful characters.
Expect the Unexpected – online EPIC event on 24 June
Mark your calendars – an EPIC (European Photonics Industry Consortium) 24 hours begins on Wednesday 24 June at 1pm with our very own Industry Team Leader, Professor John Harvey, as he kicks off the event as the opening speaker. He will be followed by Simon Poole, the Chair of our Industry Advisory Board.
Themed “Expect the Unexpected”, the event features 72 photonics industry leaders from 35 countries who will give a short presentation and have time for Q & A – your chance to hear some of the best minds in the photonics field talking about their successes and challenges without leaving your sofa!

his years Dodd-Walls Symposium will be held on the 20-22 of October. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation this years symposium will be held virtually with local hubs airing selected talks and hosting social events. We look forward to hearing everyone’s latest results and connecting virtually.
